Job Summary:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Operations graduate Trainee with a passion for improving the lives of smallholder farmers. The Operations Graduate Trainee is responsible for organizing Company’s sales, providing effective and clear communication with Customers, maintaining dispatch & delivery records, and ensuring smooth delivery of day-old chicks and feed to rural customers across Uganda. The Operations Graduate Trainee will report to the Operations Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Customer Delivery
- Communicate with the Customers prior to dispatch, including confirming their order and delivery details (location, contacts, preparedness), and addressing any questions
- Prepare feeds and field materials for distribution to team by following dispatch procedures and preparing transporters with the necessary materials and information
- Keep effective coordination between the customers and the delivery team (check-in on driver status, answer driver issues, etc)
- Follow up on deliveries to ensure customers receive their products at the right place and time; update delivery data following dispatch to track actual products delivered to customer and update order fulfillment records
- Ensure customers receive invoice for the products they have purchased and sign and receive the proper delivery documentation; make sure drivers return Tax Invoices, signed by customers.
Inventory Management
- Support the Operations Officer in receipt or dispatch of feeds, day-old chicks, and hatching eggs.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager
Minimum Qualifications:
- Passionate about positively impacting smallholder farmers and customers in rural areas
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English, local languages preferably Runyakitara, Luganda.)
- University Degree/Diploma in relevant field (supply chain management and Logistics, Business Administration).
- Ability to work independently with limited follow-up
- Strong time management and organizational skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented, with a highly developed sense of reliability
- Adaptive and flexible; ability to learn quickly
- Leadership potential – desire and capacity to grow into leadership roles
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets)
