Roles and responsibilities:
- The youth coordinator contributes to AHF’s mission by promoting HIV prevention interventions among the youths. She/he also promotes positive living among the youth living with HIV and AIDS. Works closely with both medical and prevention departments to identify needs among youths and designs appropriate strategies to meet those needs in line with available resources.
- The youth coordinator ensures that views of adolescents and Youths are incorporated at all stages of the program including their active participation in implementation of activities. This will ultimately make AHF services acceptable to the youth.
- The youth coordinator will conduct routine assessments and community dialogues to understand factors that predispose youths to HIV infection. This helps in providing evidence-based services to adolescents and youths in a defined community.
- By working with advocacy, policy and marketing teams, the youth coordinator supports the design and production of health education and marketing materials that are specific to the needs of adolescents and youths within the program.
